Hi Juul,

What dominates the room now  at least for me are the two paintings Kea and I got from you.
The painting hanging over the bed, is your interpretation of the northern California landscape.
The yellowed covered grasses, that run through the valley and hills, which turn golden in the early morning and late afternoon light.  contrasts with the dark green of the black oak forests, that I have spent so many hours wandering underneath the canopy.  You capturing of this land goes right into my fondest memories and at this moment, helps incredibly with the healing process.  The positive feeling that invokes together with the addition of the warm light, warms the soul.
As much as the landscape finds its way into me and fills with positive feelings, it is the other painting that inspires me the most, as it did the very first time I saw it.  The contrast between the warm and cool colours, affects me in a profound way, as it invokes a pleasant feeling within me.  It is the content though that really speaks to me.  The sail boat (the soul) drifting along the waters of eternity, past a barrier (the ego) to the light (the logos).  It really says what is the path we should all seek.
Thank you so much for having the inspiration and your dedication to having created these beautiful art pieces, that can have such an effect on one’s inner self.

Openingswoord van Wim Ingenhoven

Dames en heren,

Mag ik u iets voorhouden: “Het leven van een kunstenaar gaat over rozen…!”
Neen, het is niet de stelling van vandaag….het is werkelijk zo! Joke gaat er voor…. Vanuit het HART…

Ik zou graag 2 zaken met u willen behandelen.
Alvorens ik dat ga doen, wil ik het volgende van u weten: “Wie van u heeft verstand van kunst?”
Of… heeft ‘Verstand van Kunst’meer met ‘Verstand van Jezelf’ te maken?
Wat je zelf doet, in deze situatie, je kijkt er naar.
Dames en heren, Kunst is ’n uiting van de ander. Wie is die ander? Wat beweegt die ander?
Vragen waar ik vanmiddag niet het antwoord op heb.

Wel wil ik ’n tipje van de sluier van Joke oplichten.Wat ik Joke zie doen, is dat zij
haar innerlijk bewustzijn ontwikkelt. Door te schilderen.
Ze leeft haar leven zoveel mogelijk in bewustzijn van een grotere Schoonheid, Wijsheid en Liefde.
Waarom zij dat doet, kunt u aan haar vragen...niet dat ze daar direct ’n kort antwoord op heeft.
Joke heeft ervaren dat achter alle manifestaties iets schuil gaat wat lieflijk en machthebbend is.
Daar ben ik van overtuigd. Nu neem ik u mee naar haar schilderwerk.
Wat je ziet, is wat Joke in haarzelf ervaart. Zij geeft dat wat ze zelf ervaart, via het schilderij aan ons terug.
Wat laat ze aan u zien? Wat heeft dat met u te maken?

Droom en werkelijkheid. Joke creëert met dit thema de kritische afstand, die het u mogelijk maakt
om haar kunst te waarderen en te beoordelen. Ze brengt u in verwarring of in vervoering….
Want, wat  is het nu: Werkelijkheid kan een droom zijn… en Joke zegt Droom en werkelijkheid…
dan zou het kunnen zijn: Droom is werkelijkheid…. Die afstand, waar ik het net over had, is onmisbaar.
Afstand tussen droom en werkelijkheid... Ik nodig u uit om met tederheid en de onschuld van een kind,
de schoonheid en harmonie in het werk van Joke te ontdekken.
Laat Uw Licht schijnen op haar werk. Wel met het devies “houd afstand!”
Na deze woorden verklaar ik deze expositie als geopend!
Ik wens Joke een fijne expositie en ik wens u heel veel kijkplezier!
